The Garden Egg Chair, designed by Péter Ghyczy and known the world over, was the first chair made of polyurethane. In 1968, Elastogran GmbH, a producer of the new material gave Ghyczy the task of creating model products from the revolutionary plastic to demonstrate its possible uses. The Garden Egg Chair was one of his first designs. The red-white piece in the Museum enriches the part of the collection that is dedicated to Hungarian designers who found world fame abroad.
