Mária Minya Munkácsy and Gádor award-winning ceramic artist is a significant member of contemporary Hungarian ceramic art, in addition to her industrial designer career and artistic activities, Minya also has timeless merits in education. The ceramic picture entitled Alföld II. (The Great Hungarian Plain II) shows the expressive painter and graphic side of Mária Minya's art. She captured the beauty of the typical motifs of the landscape of the Great Hungarian Plain with gently gestures from the special cordierite raw material, which is difficult to shape. The artist pressed into mould the cordierite and coloured it with metal salts, the fresh, picturesque atmosphere of her landscape depiction is due to these technical feats.
