The cock-shaped bowl stands on a base of irregular shape, supported by a tree trunk. Its upper part serves as a detachable cover. The body and the feathers are elaborately modelled, with realistic painting. The colours are mainly manganese and brown yellow, cobalt, turquoise and iron-red, out-lined with black. Similar bowls forming animals or plants were made in France from the beginning - and in Germany from the middle - of the 18th century, and in Holies from 1748. Marked on the bottom: H in manganese.
