The front plate is bound in embossed red maroquin leather, framed by gilt lines. The four corners are applied with fan-shaped lobes of green leather, divided by gilt lines. The frame of the surface is of curves, dots and leaves, enclosing an applied, eight-pointed star motif of leather. The arms of the stars are halved, made of green and yellow leather, framed by gilt dots. The saddle is divided into five fields by green leather applications that are enriched with gilt arrows. The fields are decorated with gilt motifs. The French- style endpapers are of green silk, framed by gilt leather. The edges of the plates are also gilt, lacking the headband. The cover plate of a copper engraving was made by Blasius Hofel (1792- 1863), following the composition of Ludwig Ferdinand Schnorr von Carolsfeld (1788-1853) marked: L. Schnorr px K[...]st, Bl. Hofel SC. Be-low the marking, there is a quotation from the Book of Apparitions: "Sey getreu bis in den Tod und ich will die Krone des Lebens geben". (Off. Joh. II. 10.)
