Book binding - content: exercise book for handwriting

The paper plates are bound in green paper. The surface is decorated with red paper application of silvered volutes and leaves, three gilt rosettes and rays. The middle of the cover plate shows a black paper application, in a silvered, red paper frame. In the black field, is a title inscription among gilt rosettes and silvered rays: Ioannis Oeffner MDCCCXXV. The decoration of the back plate is identical with that of the cover; the black paper field in the middle shows rays springing from gilt rosettes. The endpapers are decorated with white crosses and black spots on an ochre base. The cover shows an inscription in a flowery-leafy wreath, painted in tempera: Exercitia correcta in Archi Gymnasio Regio Budensi per Joannem Oeffner IVac Classis Ilumnum primo Semestri 1825 descriptio. The paper is marked with watermark: J. Whatman 1823.
