Both panels of the binding — which seemed to be anachronistic at that time in view of their re-naissance style — have similar decorations. Two of the borders surrounding the central field are ornamental — beading and palmettes —, two are figural: Annunciation with the inscription ECCE VIRGO, Resurrection — MOSERO, Crucifixion — ECCE AGN9, the allegorical female figures of the three cardinal virtues, with the inscription SPES. FIDES. CHARITAS. At the head of the figure of Hope is the master's mark AT. The most important ornament of the central field is the copper figure of the Pantokrator, framed with a scroll and in the corners filigree flowers. The large sized corner fit-tings represent the four evangelists; on the clasps are the figures of King David and Aaron. In the middle of the back panel is the figure of Moses with the tablet of the Law. The sloping edge of the panels is decorated with arcature and palmettes. Its spine of seven double rims is decorated only with two pairs of rules punched to the stems and at the foot a diagonal punched pattern. The headband is sewn from blue and white cotton thread. The tool is marbled. The publisher Endter published three different illustrated Lutheran Bibles, this being the third in chronological order, and illustrated with engravings. The title page and the introductory illustrations of the books of the Old Testament and the New Testament are engraved after the drawings of Johann Jacob von Sandrart (1655—1698), by Gabriel Ehinger , Leonhard II Heckenauer and Augustus Christian Fleischman. The full page engravings of the Saxon Prince Electors, prophets and evangelists were made by Johann Christian Marchant and Joseph de Montalegre.
