The borders of the front and back board are identical: the gold tooled lines are joined by knot motifs at the corners and in the middle of the sides. On the side connected to the spine there are horizontal division lines, following the position of the five bands. Between the bordering lines, there are regularly repeated small circles facing each other, painted light red inside. The compartments are also decorated with small, light red circles at the corners of the standing rhomboid motifs. The doublure is tooled in gold, the corners are enriched with leafy ornaments. Simple, white endpaper the headband is sewn with white and gold.
The content of the book is a play written, illustrated and on 29 June, 1899 presented in the London Guildhall by members of the Art Workers' Guild, chaired by Walter Crane.
