One of the most exciting phases of the career of the interior designer Sándor Mikó was the furnishing of the Te + Én (You + Me) coffee bar on the ground floor of the apartment building erected at 30 Bem Rakpart in Budapest according to the designs of the architect Sándor Vedres. This modern and popular café that opened in 1969 became a fashionable meeting place for members of the contemporary art scene, too. In the interior, Sándor Mikó designed cube-shaped armchairs that went well with the tables, some of which were separated by screens in a zigzag manner, providing a very cutting-edge effect. The designer kept one of the examples of this seating, which is made from a walnut wood base with zebrawood veneer and originally was upholstered with blue fabric. He donated the piece to the furniture collection of the Museum of Applied Arts in 2007.
