The paper plates are covered in gold paper, the surface of the plate and the saddle are decorated with a paper application of a copper engraving coloured later. The surface is enframed by engraved birds, urns, flowers, masks and garlands, placed between two lines, coloured with gold, blue, green, red, orange and yellow. The middle of the surface shows a floating female figure, throwing flowers from a basket above her head. The saddle is decorated with a copper engraving of flowers, coloured later. The engraving of the green endpaper is gilt the white silk ribbon is fixed to the cover plate. There are three engravings, bound before the book, made by Francois Janet, following the paintings of Sir David Wilkie (1785-1841) marked Wilkie pinx', Fr. Janet Direx'. In the text of the book, are other engravings by Francois Janet, following the painting of M,le Haudebourt Lescot (1784-1845) marked: M, e Lescot pinx', Fr. Janet Direx' and the painting of Jean-Honore Fragonard (1732-1806), marked Fragonard pinx1, Fr. Janet Direx1. The text, Souvenirs et pensees. A paris chez Louis Janet Libraire, Successeur de son Pere, Rue St. Jacques N°. 59., is bound after the book, followed by blank sheets with the names of the months and small, engraved medallions. Each of them is enframed by strings of pearls and shows a playing putto. The case of the book is paper, covered with gold, paper, which is decorated with a glued paper application of a coloured engraving. The surface of the plate is framed by figures and flowers, while the middle depicts a female figure of butterfly wings, in antique garb, standing on a plinth. She holds a flower basket and a bunch of flowers. Her dress is coloured blue on the cover plate, red on the back plate. The case is lined with pink paper.
