Sugar box with lid

The slightly elongated, ball-shaped body stands on a round foot; it is provided with a domed lid with a ball finial. The whole surface is covered with black, transparent glaze; there is a horizontal, gilt stripe along the foot rim and the top border. The initials B.I.N., surmounted with a seven- pointed coronet, are painted on the side. Impressed with maker's mark on the bottom: "BATIZ".
