On one side of the octagonal leaf is a portrait, framed in yellow and on a blue ground, of a man wearing an allonge wig. Around it is an inscription: ALOYSIUS CAROELLVS S.R.I. COMES I.C. NOVARIAE SENATOR MLNI ET REGENS &c. On the other side, on a dark grey ground, is a miscellany: a priest making preparations beside a sacrificial fire, and a dragon figure in front of the altar-stone a smithy a hunting scene a wall (?) and a man's portrait in a round field, with the inscription: PH.FR.NAZ... RE D'EGLANTINE. The meaning of the depiction is undiscovered.
