The plate has a broad rim and a small surface. The rim shows lattice cartouches with Watteau scenes in high gilding the surface shows a cartouche with lattice and rocailles in high gilding, showing a romantic landscape - contrasting the Rococo idyllic illustrations - : a village church with houses in a mountain landscape, and a sail-boat floating over the lake. The object is an outstanding representative, both artistically and technically, of historicizing glasses decorated with polychrome enamel painting, (see the donation register of Henrik Giergl, 1898, IM Archives, 482/1: Disztányér 24 cm arany relief festéssel és színes Watteaui alakokkal. /An ornamental plate 24 cm, decorated with golden relief painting and polychrome Watteau figures/).
