The top part of the sides of the hollow, drum- shaped stool has four slots for the hands. The surface in painted with bright metallic, iridescent colours, with stylised reed, leaves, flying butterflies and flowers at the bottom. The main colour is yellow against the red base, enriched with purple, blue and green details.
The traditional stool shape and the decoration follow Japanese models, reinterpreted by the designer of the decor. It is most likely the design of Júlia Zsolnay. This decor was also used to decorate the top of brushes, necessaires and plates.
